Bellow are a few things you have to consider when having a Feathered Friend. Parrots are fragile and can be easily injured or killed if not well taken care of. So please make sure it’s the right pet for you and your family. Parrots are intended to live a long life if well taken care of. |

If You have other pets it’s best to make sure that you have a safe place for your new feathered friend. As time goes by you will be able to know what the reaction with your other pets will be towards your new pet parrot. When purchasing a cage always make sure that you have a bird safe cage, not something intended for decor only. Some decor cages don’t have a powder coated bird safe paint on them. Also having the right size cage and bar spacing, as some cages are not always good for your type of parrot. Always feed your Feathered Friend a good quality food, clean bowl of fresh water and a clean cage daily. Things that will harm (Kill) your Parrot: Chocolate Avocado Caifeen Salty foods Fatty foods Teflon (when heated at high temp) Nail polish & remover Scented candles Air fresheners (plug-ins) Some house plants are toxic Some outdoor trees are toxic Cleaning sprays and liquids (examples, Mr Clean, Bleach, Pine sol, Oven cleaners). Paint fumes (when painting a room in your house always make sure your bird is safe and away from paint fumes. Spoiled foods (always make sure the expired dates are good, never feed expired foods. Never leave fruit or veggies in the cage for to long as it spoils after a few hours. Also never mix wet goods with there seed mixture as it will spoil the seeds. If it’s not good for you then it’s certainly not good for your Feathered Friend. When toys are present always make sure that when the toy especially rope toys get all fringed up or old and abused it’s time for new one’s. Birds can get tangled up and start to panic and can harm themselves. They rely on you to make sure there in a safe place!
